MESSAGE BOARDS
I am sorry but due to threats made both to myself as the owner of these sites, to people who use these boards misinformation and also recent abuse of these boards, ALL these message boards will now close.
There will still be support available through the trisomy lists (
To clarify this sites policy - EVERYONE is welcome, whether you had a prenatal diagnosis or postnatal diagnosis, whether you chose to continue your pregnancy or terminate, whether your child is an earth angel or a heavenly angel.
Yes the lists are heavy in traffic volume, but they can be set up to be received like the message boards. They have also been designed to minimise email volume for those who wish to limit mail to that which they are specifically interested in.
For example there is Tri-Med, for those who are pregnant and those who have an earthly angel with ANY trisomy disorder (full, partial, mosaic, tetrasomy, trisomy 1, trisomy 2, trisomy 3 etc etc).
There is Tri-Wings for those who have a heavenly angel, again with ANY trisomy and there is Tri-Family which is for those off topic posts, lots of laughs and giggles as happens in any family that is full of love and support.
There is also Tri-Choices, support specifically for those who have terminated or interrupted their pregnancy. For more information about this list (because it is new) please contact me direct (
The divisions are not for any other reason except to create a loving and caring environment with reasonable volumes of mail. EVERYONE, regardless of their decision is welcome here, on whichever list they choose, and always will. I will NOT TOLERATE any abuse or flaming. No-one has any right to challenge another persons decisions - EVER.
It hurts greatly that after 6 years of providing these boards to have to make this decision, but sadly these boards will go the same way as previous attempts to provide message board support. There have indeed been previous attempts and all have closed through abuse and threats. I have weathered the threats for 6 years, but cannot and will not tolerate threats to others to continue, especially when they are of such a nature that I need to seek legal and police advice.
About The Lists
For those people who do not understand how the lists work I will explain.
The lists are very similar to these message boards except that they are e-mail based.
You simply sign up to the central address (either directly through the web site or by emailing me direct). No one, except myself and my trusted moderater helpers will know that you are there unless you actually post to the list.
Whenever anyone posts, they post to central e-mail address and a copy of that mail is then sent to everyone who is subscribed. People then choose either to read, answer or delete the mail.
It is that simple.
You can choose to receive each mail individually or all the mails in one or two large e-mails a day.
You cannot get a virus through the list as attachments are not allowed. There is no cost and you can unsubscribe any time.
The boards were added to the lists to help those who used the internet at work, from hospitals or libraries. However as a way of support they are for the most part now obsolete as there are so many free web based e-mail accounts.
There are many, many more families, doctors and other health professionals on the lists than there ever have been on the boards. The information is far more accurate and much less judgemental. It is also much safer.
The recent spate of problems only hastened the closing of the boards. The main problem stems from threats made to both myself and others who help me. I am "mum" and WILL NOT EVER tolerate any of my family being threatened in such a way. It is only after a lot of thought and legal consultation that I have made this decision. I hope that each and everyone of you will migrate to the lists, you have so much to share and give each other. However as mum it is my job to give you as safe a forum as possible to do that.
